«Jeg har ikke trykt!» Ytringer om teknologi ved lesing av digitale bildebøker i barnehagen

Abstract

I denne artikkelen utforskes barnehagebarns og barnehagelæreres ytringer om teknologi i samtalebasert gruppelesing av digitale bildebøker på nettbrett i norske barnehager. Flere tidligere studier om lesing på nettbrett har undersøkt antall ytringer, mens få studier har utforsket innholdet i ytringene om det teknologiske. Barndomsstudier der turtaking og sosial deltakelse er vektlagt har inspirert våre analyser. Empirien består av fire filmopptak av samtalebasert gruppelesing med digitale bildebøker, som er analysert ved bruk av induktiv kvalitativ innholdsanalyse. Funnene viser at innholdet i barnas ytringer om det teknologiske hovedsakelig dreier seg om turtaking og tilgang, mens barnehagelærerne beskriver hva som skjer i fortellingen og om muligheter med teknologien. På tvers av disse resultatene trer det frem to tematikker som blir diskutert: jakten på hotspots og turtaking.

“I haven’t tapped!” Utterances about technology when reading digital picture books in kindergarten

In this article, children’s and teachers’ utterances about technology in dialogue-based groupreading of digital picture books on tablets in Norwegian kindergartens are explored. Several previous studies of reading on tablets have explored the number of utterances, but few studies have explored the content of utterances about the technology. Research on peer culture with a focus on taking turns and social participation has inspired our analysis. The empirical data consists of four video-recordings of dialogue-based group-reading with digital picture books; these are analysed using inductive qualitative content analysis. The findings demonstrate that the content of the children’s utterances about technology is mainly about taking turns and access, while the teachers describe what happens in the story and the opportunities with the technology. Across these results, two topics emerge that are discussed: the search for hotspots and taking turns.
