Abstract

This article examines six short stories by Per Sivle which can be read as reflections on the value of children. The stories are labelled animal biography and the question about the value of children is discussed
in the light of the relation between animal-children-man. The article is theoretical and philosophical
informed by the bio-political thinking of Giorgio Agamben and Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s view on children as humans of their own distinctive character.
